There are feminist groups which argue that “jail is never an appropriate punishment for a woman” and so only men should ever be sentenced to jail. It’s the usual arguments that women only commit crimes because men drive them to it/patriarchy gives them no other options/etc etc.

Heavily downvoted on Feminism subreddit just for saying women can rape men too. And then feminist say that they are empathetic towards male rapes too. Lmao bullshit. They fucking hate it when they realize they are not the only victims around.

BuT FeMInIsIm iS nOt __________. Shut the fuck up. A movement is characterised by its ACTIONS , rather than its THEORY. Barely any of your whatever feminism is in 'theory' is practised in real life anymore . Third wave feminism is full of shit in 'applicability'.

Feminists HATE it when we call them 'females' yet they keep using the words like 'Male ego', 'Male internalized gaze' for us. Hypocrites.

Well if they tell you that, answer that it is a stereotype where the women are seen with hypoagencey. So saying that women do this due to men (patriarchy) is actualy striping women from their agencey hence enforcing the gender norm (you can troll here) hence reenforcing the patriarchy.

https://criticathink.wordpress.com/2018/04/24/gynocentrism-ii-institutionalized-gynocentrism/

Gynocentrism is pro-female/anti-male gender bias, displayed in three main interlinked ways:

  • Misandrist demonization: treating expressions of hatred against men and misandry as perfectly acceptable, while insisting falsely that significant levels of the reverse (alleged misogyny) exist—when the truth is the reverse.
  • Protective gynocentrism: treating girls & women as more socially valuable than boys & men; valuing the welfare and welbeing of girls & women over that of boys & men; assigning higher protective status towards girls & women over that of boys & men;  (this is also sometimes referred to as “male disposability”);
  • Gynocentric infantilism: assigning lower responsibility, culpability and accountabilityto girls & women as compared to boys & men; this entails decriminalizing female violence and abuse; conversely, it entails denying due process to men when subjected to accusations—typically false accusations of a sexual nature or perhaps related to Interpersonal Violence (IPV).

In the previous post, “Gynocentrism I: Social Gynocentrism“, I distinguished between social gynocentrism and institutionalized gynocentrism. There, I summarized three classic examples of social gynocentrism:

  • The Titanic Effect
  • The Damsels Effect
  • The Boko Haram Effect

In each such phenomenon, girls & women are accorded far higher social value, protective status and concern for wellbeing, as well as much lower expectation of accountability, than boys & men are, while boys and men are treated with little more than contempt.

Here I simply list some examples of institutionalized gynocentrism:

  • Educational gynocentrism.
  • Policing, legal and criminal justice gynocentrism.
  • Welfare & healthcare gynocentrism.
  • Workplace gynocentrism.

Each indicates the extent and prevalence of gynocentric bias in favour of females combined with sustained, systemic misandry. Of these, educational and *criminal justice-*related gynocentrism are the two most severe illustrations of institutionalizedgynocentrism.

If feminists had their way, men but not women would be sent to prison, and misogyny not misandry would be a criminal offence.

Does that even begin to look like an equal society to you? Or one where women are literally privileged over men before the law?

This reminds me of when a man that has been abandoned by his family and is institutionally raised commits a crime and that upbringing won't be considered even though this abuse is done to them as a child when they are vulnerable and there is strong evidence of how damaging that can be. Yet when a woman that has had a relatively normal upbringing commits a crime it will sometimes be excused because she was "brainwashed". It's sickening.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, if women commit crimes they should be sent to 5 star premium hotels

[–]YooGeOh 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Shutting down prisons and using the arguments that justify doing so is benevolent sexism. It suggests that women are incapable of being flawed and only do wrong under duress from men. This in turn feeds into the pedestalization of women, denying them agency and the freedom to be human and all that encompasses. This, according to most feminist theory, would be one of the many manifestations of patriarchal norms and perspectives. Being overprotective of women and not seeing them as equal to men. Ironic, then, that they choose to subject women criminals to a tool of patriarchy as an argument against equality incorrectly framed as patriarchy. Trying to hoodwink people like this shows that many branches of third wave feminism are interested only in special interests and special privileges and use "equality" as a trajan horse to push them through

It's hilarious given the fact that virtually no woman faces abject poverty in the United States. I'm certainly not one to justify criminal behavior, but I think far more men are put into scenarios where they have to fend for themselves which sometimes leads to them to dealing drugs or engaging in other criminal activity. Women don't really have to earn their own money. Or seek out joining gangs for protection as all of society protects them.

I don’t think I have seen or heard a feminist/woman argue that ever in my entire life. If there are people that say that is an extremely extremely small group. If you’re going to argue for men’s rights at least argue against a point people are actually making. This makes you look bad.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Just because they are 'small' does not mean they dont have to be called out. Stop saying stupid shit. Just because there are 'few criminals' in this world does not mean we wont punsih them. Dumbass

read this too

[–]bakedchubz69 -5 points-4 points-3 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Yeah obviously it’s a shit opinion and anyone who thinks that is stupid. You said “usual arguments“ as if this is something people argue often, which it definitely isn’t.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Lol all of feminism blames everything wrong ever on patriarchy LOL

[–]bakedchubz69 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I’ll be the first to admit there are some cringey feminists out there... but you do know they fight for men’s rights too right? That’s kinda the whole concept of toxic masculinity. I mean you can correct me if I’m wrong but I’m very sure I’m right (can’t wait for the karma hit from this one). The “patriarchy” enforces terrible standards for men making them unable to be truly free individuals. Women aren’t the only ones it’s harming lol.

Plus the fact it often turns to victim blaming. It's not JUST patriarchy it's 100s of factors. You single out one factor which is related to men. Also power has many many dynamics, the appropriate term is kyiarchy which is another feminist term I actually like. Plus the fact that what would be better than patriarchy ? Matriarchy ? How do we know we would be better in matriarchy ? How can we assume that ?

Chekc this out too. The teacher for kicked out of school for making it

Also I am glad you're asking and not imposing. If I am wrong I am here ready to change . I don't think you should be downvoted

[–]bakedchubz69 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Regarding your “toxic masculinity” instagram post. I would argue the term toxic masculinity isn’t only to be applied to male individuals. The term is to be applied to society. Our society (gradually less and less) enforces toxic masculinity principles like men not being able to express their feelings... contributing to male depression; something feminism is trying to fight (at least the majority. some feminists are so fucking annoying they make everyone look bad). I think it would be applied to people (regardless of gender, but often enforced by men) only when they are directly oppressing their male counterparts.

I’ll watch the YouTube video soon and respond. I am being open minded so I please encourage you to be open minded as well.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeap. The insta post also depicted a survey incase you didnt. For whatever the toxic masculinity means semantically, it is not used that way in real life nor is it appreciated by men. Just like negro does not mean anything bad semantically but is generally not appreciated
