I was watching "The Grinch" with my nieces a couple weeks ago, oldest one is 5 the youngest is 2. There in the beginning there is a scene where the grinch is getting dressed and is seen in underwear and taking a shower, his silhouette being seen. This is supposed to be a funny scene and my nieces were laughing and saying "eew" at the same time.

The other scene is a boy dressed as Santa but he loses his clothes somehow and becomes naked with only a cookie covering his crotch. My nieces laughed hard at that part. This scene is disturbed me the most and I'll explain that in the next paragraph.

Now I know technically no "nudity" was shown explicitly. But a children's movie would never show a female character in such a way as the grinch was. Wearing only underwear, taking a shower with her silhouette being seen. And the most disturbing part was the boy losing his clothes. It's was disturbing because they would never have done that to a girl in a children's movie. The parents would be outraged and say "they're sexualizing girls" or something like that. But when it's a boy (note, not a man but a boy), it's viewed as "hilarious" and "harmless". I view this as humiliation, parents and kids are laughing at naked boys being humiliated. That is truly perversion. Similar thing happened in Simpsons movie 2007 when Bart's penis was shown and it was seen as "harmless" and one reviewer wrote "it's just a boy's penis, not a big deal". I have never seen a girl's clitoris, labia skin, or vagina in these types of movies. With a girl character, they would try to "protect he privacy" at all costs".

Please correct me if I'm wrong though. I saw inside out a while back and there might have been a scene where she dreamed she didn't have pants on. But she wasn't naked like the kid in the grinch was. I feel like for the most part, male nudity in children's movies has been normalized and the privacy of the male body has been destroyed.
