I'm currently worrying about this. I'm in my 30's and have had a non STD sore on my penis for the past 6 weeks. I saw several doctors and they all told me they don't know what it is but they don't think it's penile cancer because it's in the wrong location... Everything they said it could be should have cleared up in a couple weeks. I went on a course of antibiotics, but that didn't help.

They are probably right, it probably isn't cancer, but if you wait around and don't catch it early, the only treatment is cutting your penis off or just letting it take it's course and kill you, and to be honest if it comes down to those two choices I'll probably go with the latter.

Circumcision is not a preventative measure. The USA where 60% of males are mutilated has a higher rate of penile cancer than Europe, where boys are not harmed.

Also the argument is akin to preventatively chopping off your nose to avoid nose cancer.
