Now I’m gonna try and not make this political too. But on mainstream (mostly leftist) media I notice they always are super eager to claim someone a victim. They often do it with Women the most, among others like Latinos and African Americans. They also use general terms to spread this gender gap fallacy. Yes, I will agree a gender gap does exist in certain scenarios, but it is not universal and isn’t something you can just generalize. Gender gap constitutes of multiple factors, as the great Jordan Peterson has said, and gender is just one of them. Other factors include agreeableness, fear of stereotypes, and often times it’s just because they don’t want to work in that field which causes huge statistical differences. Legally, men and women are equal(maybe not in family courts though....). I don’t see men posting on social media for sympathy, yet I always see women constantly playing victim to get attention and make their lives easier. Life isn’t always fair and you can’t always play the victim card. When a man gets forced to pay 18 years worth of child support (slavery IMO) I don’t see them victimizing themselves. Women can share their feelings without fear of embarrassment, and if anything, can use that as a ploy. They can accuse someone of rape without evidence and still ruin their lives. They can get parental leave and not be ridiculed. They are idolized in times of war, while men are sacrificed. Yet the moment anything doesn’t benefit them, they play victim and whine about privilege. There’s plenty more examples but my thumbs are tired.
