Ridiculous but I don't think this is a case of sexism. I've seen similar sentences for males. It seems you only get hard time in jail if you've robbed the goverment or some private company of money somehow. Those are the crimes that carry the real sentences.

There was a UK TV show on not long ago of someone claiming on their insurance as someone broke into his home stole some family heirlooms, including a fireplace. Turns out he lied and it hadn't been stolen. He was sentenced to 8 years on prison
