Interesting. Their comments do seem innocuous.

I've posted in that sub plenty of times about my experience - which among other included my female sexual harasser and stalker falsely accusing me - a gay man - of domestic violence. Using death and rape threats she faked and which the police eventually proved she faked.

Maybe it's this:

My mother, when she got divorced from my stepfather, had her solicitor say: "Okay, so we can claim domestic violence."

My mother responded by saying: "no, he's an arsehole and I'm leaving him, but he never hit me or any of the kids."

Solicitor: "It doesn't matter, we can just claim domestic violence, and then he has to argue that he didn't do it. It's better for us."

I have read claims like this before, though not in the Aus sub. Maybe this is too uncomfortable a truth for them?
