This man was a predator and a bully, and was in fact found guilty in a university investigation. This was for breach of privacy, it did not overturn the result of the investigation.
It was indeed privacy alone. The only reason the judge wanted to do that is because Kirby was allowed to retire before he was disciplined after the investigation was concluded. He may or may not have been fired if he had not retired. This judgement did not overturn the results of the investigation.
