I heard the argument about the need for unpartisan stance on due process, but i think that if Joe Biden has no backlash on his accusation, this will lead to a even more dangerous precedent : selective justice.

Kavanaugh had a public Trial where people could see his accusation exposed and not assessed as serious enough to impeach his nomination.

Joe Biden case is often compared to Kavanaugh. Not applying the same standard to each side would create a world where justice is perveived has having no value as it would not decide whether the accused has done something but if he is on the good or wrong political side and be merely a political tool, usefull to jail opponnents while your side could behave the way they wanted.

So, Joe Biden should be investigated in a similar manner, the precedent of allegations being enough to prosecute is already in place, it would not change anything to due process.

So, even if some have reticences against the fact that a simple allegation should not be proof, Joe Biden accusation and his defense should be heard in the interest of keeping a semblance of a justice.

I would have considered that it could be justified to hear Kavanaugh and not Biden considering there are no nomination hearing for presidential candidates, but the Kavanaugh nomination having been made a public MeeToo moment, and the Democrats having choosen to deny the allegations instead of the status of Biden as presidential candidate, i think the acusations should be adressed.
