Legislation in California forces public companies to have at least one women on their corporate board. If a company does not comply they will be fined up to $300,000 , there is no legislation guaranteeing all public corporate boards have at least one man.

I think it will be interesting when a company starts using this bit of the law: "“Female” means an individual who self-identifies her gender as a woman, without regard to the individual’s designated sex at birth." So, Joe, for the duration of this board meeting you'll be Joanne.
