Rape should be taught about in sex Ed curriculums at schools: an opinion

Conversations about rape NEED to take place in our Sex Ed Curriculums!! I think rape and the different types/how it happened rape (drunk/on drugs rape, date rape, marital rape, pushing it too far, persuasion, etc) should be taught. How to spot certain rapist behavior in yourself and others and know how to intervene (and if it’s someone else possibly being a rapist, then help the girl or guy out as well as intervening by making sure the guy or girl is being watched by workers of the place and security (if security is present) and make sure someone walks her or him to her/his car, etc.) Also, know what to do (how to comfort them and be there for them when needed and what to say and NOT to say about it if they want to talk about it and ALWAYS validate their emotions and thoughts) in a situation where a friend, colleague, classmate, and/or family member has been raped. Girls and Guys should also be taught what to do in certain situations where a man or woman might be a potential rapist (like a family member, friend, or stranger at a bar) and how to spot certain behaviors and speech as well as what to do when they are about to be raped (but sometimes we get scared and freeze up instead of fighting or running and it’s NOT your fault and the rape is NOT less horrible and it is STILL rape!!) Many people want to know how to spot a rapist, what counts as rape, and what to do if a rape is happening or has happened whether they are man or woman. We all need to help and protect each other.
