Pretty cringy overall, in my opinion. Notice how the feminists sneer and purse their lips when the men talk? Particularly that black chick. The men don't do that. It's an inate shaming tactic women use.

First of all, when you have a self-described incel representing the MRM, no one in the MRM is going to take you seriously. The rest of the "Men's Rights" side (quotes because I'm not convinced any of those guys know the first thing about our goals or values) hardly raised a single actual issue relating to men's rights. The one thing that I actually think you can get from this video is this: if you examine both sides with a critical lens, it's easy to see that everything the feminists said was entirely anecdotal. The black one especially was only concerned about 'her story' and when confronted about it went on a long rant about the men "denying her lived experiences," whatever that means. It's like she honestly thinks that male suicide, divorce rape, etc. didn't happen personally to any of those guys so obviously it's not as tragic or important as that one time she got groped at a club. It's a pretty disgusting and selfish mindset, especially coming from someone who won't shut up about "male entitlement."

Sorry for how long my reply is, but this video made me think a ton of things lol.

I hate the fact that, at least in my opinion, the video makes MRA's out to be primarily people who think that traditional gender roles are what are best for society. I don't think that, and a lot of the people I have talked to on this sub don't think that either.

Of course, there are MRA's who think that way, but I think the other side of the debate likes to focus on the traditionalist MRA's more because they feel that it will be easier to discredit MRA's in the eyes of feminists by focusing on the MRA's that feminists are likely to have the most disagreement with.

The guy who referred to himself as an incel was especially fringe in my experience. I have virtually never come across anyone in this sub who describes themselves as an incel. And that guy was by far the most disagreeable person in the video to me, almost as if he was the worst person they could possibly find to represent the MRA side in order to make it look bad.

The guy on the far left (the one who asked for the name of a single feminist group fighting against anti-male bias in the courts) was by far the most agreeable to me personally of any of the people on there, but unfortunately, I think having the other two on his team (especially the incel guy) without him expressing disagreement with them made him appear to be on board with their ideas that a traditional society is what is best.

And man, I still can't get over the incel guy implying that it's impossible for men and women to be friends with each other. Again, there are definitely people who think that way, but that guy just came across as exactly what a lot of people who are against MRA's wish all MRA's were like so that it would be easier to discredit them.

I agree that many of the things the feminists brought up are real issues, but they tended to frame them in wildly inaccurate ways. They might not have even been doing this on purpose though because this type of thinking tends to be so prevalent in feminist rhetoric nowadays that it is probably not questioned by most feminists.

As an example, one of the women said that men don't have to worry that if they wear the wrong thing, it could put their safety at risk. But that is extremely inaccurate. On the one hand, I do not disagree that a woman wearing something like a very revealing skirt could potentially open her up to attack by someone if she is in the wrong company. But on the other hand, the exact same thing is true for a man, probably even more so. We just don't tend to think about it because it would be so dangerous in most places for a man to go out in public dressed that way that virtually no men are ever even willing to try it. So while it is entirely valid to say that women's wardrobe choices are limited by the potential reactions of nasty people they could encounter, men's choices are limited even more severely.

Another issue brought up on the feminist side was the issue of a woman being harassed in a nightclub, and her not being able to get rid of the harasser until her boyfriend told him off. So she is framing it as an issue that harassers don't listen to women, but they will listen to men. I think this is technically partially true, but in a misleading way.

I think it actually comes down to strength rather than gender. Since men are on average stronger and/or larger than women, men are on average more likely to be the person a harasser would be intimidated by. But there are plenty of men out there who can tell you that they personally are not intimidating to such a person and would have difficulty scaring the person away. Likewise, there are women out there who are quite imposing and would be able to scare off a harasser like that, but naturally such women are less likely to be harassed in the first place and therefore less likely to be on a show like this giving you their perspective on what it is like to be harassed as a woman.

I also think it's misleading for the feminists to use the term "toxic masculinity" to refer to bad things they think men are more likely to do if they are not also using "toxic femininity" to name bad things women are more likely to do. And if a woman having an experience where a man tried to harass her counts as that man exhibiting "toxic masculinity", what would it have been called if a woman had done the exact same thing to her? Would it then be a woman exhibiting "toxic masculinity", or would it now be "toxic femininity"? And I know this wasn't shown in the video, but my experience has been that most feminists try to steer the conversation in a different direction if you ask them whether "toxic femininity" would also be possible. It comes across as if "toxic masculinity" is an excuse to take bad things that both genders are capable of doing and naming them after men.

There is more I could say, but I have said too much already. Thank you to anyone who actually took the time to read this far.
