13 years seems like an exessively long time. What if you meet a woman you love 2 years into your 13 year contraceptive, you get married after 2 more years and you decide you want kids? Guess you have to wait 9 years for it to wear off.

Hopefully a version with a shorter time frame will be developed. I'm sure the 13 years will give most men who want kids in the future serious doubt. The way I see it, this is more an alternative to vasectomies than a "true" contraceptive (the article even says as much)
