The first thing that comes to my mind is that I have always kept a boundary of personal things being done behind closed doors. I never user the toilet in front of my husband, I shave my legs, clean my nose and ears and do all that stuff behind closed doors. Getting too familiar takes the romance right out of a relationship. Keep a little mystery.

Don't come home and automatically take your make up off and put your yoga pants on. Your SO likes to see you dressed up too. It's the age old situation of a woman will get all dressed up for complete strangers or her co-workers but not for her husband. It makes no sense. Plus, if he's out at work all day seeing other ladies looking their best but comes home to a girlfriend in dumpy PJ's and a messy bun.... Attraction will wane.

Keep your own hobbies and interests and friends. It keeps you interesting plus gives you something to talk about when you're back together again.

Always flirt with each other. Never stop the flirting, it's fun and light hearted and let's him know you still desire him.

How do you keep your SO on their toes?

You can't do that long term. It's not sustainable. The very nature of excitement is that you have a surge of high energy which then drops once you reached the peak or once the event is over. You cannot have continuous excitement. The minute something is continuous, it becomes the new normal and normal is boring.

You also have to ask yourself - does anyone want to live on their toes their whole life? I didn't thinks so either.

You need to learn how to built a steady form of attraction within the context of the every day normal life. For example - my parents have tea together every single night before bed for as long as I can remember. It that exciting? No. Is it intimate bonding? Hell yes! (We were always sent away. This was time for them to have a tea alone).

That's on the positive side. On the negative side, u/mssadiedunham put it very eloquently. Keep the potential turn offs away from him. He doesn't have to see you shave, pick your nose or wipe your bum. He may be okay with it, but it still isn't good in the long run for sexual attraction.

Of course, it's always good to through in some excitement here and there. Go on a date or a vacation alone and do exciting things. However, this should be something that happens from time to time. You don't need to constantly be looking for new excitement, becoming an excitement junkie.

What if you try chasing him a little periodically. He may want to do the same just to be competitive. You could also hang out with friends, acquaintances or co-workers - including guys; and make sure he knows.
