It's so frustrating to see stuff like this in the news.

We fight for equality and rights and then this.

Now, I'm not a fan of it being called rape unless we know that it was either nonconsensual or statutory rape (which could have had consent but be between a minor and legal adult but done in a place where that is illegal) and also that it was actually done. Most anything else is sensation to get views or attention or sway people.

What makes me even more sad is the dictionary definition or rape includes: "a crime, typically committed by a man"

Which seems like the greatest way to make an easy argument that women can't do it, or aren't likely to.

I lost my virginity to someone who knew what she was doing but I did not. When I realized what was happening I did not enjoy it. I can never undo or forget that. It wasn't violent but it also wasn't welcomed.

Sure, you might say that I'm ignorant or naive for not knowing what was going on at first but I really was innocent and naive. After that point I have enjoyed sexual intimacy but it took many years and partners to have a healthy approach and experience.

So, what I've wondered, is what would it take for us to convince the world to change the language we use?

You are wasting your energy on wanting to change society or the laws to have it called "rape".

There are lots of other legal terms such as sexual battery, sexual exploitation of a minor, sexual interference, sexual imposition, improper relationship between educator with a student,

an authority figure soliciting lewd conduct with a student.
