Wrong sub but the cop is doing an interrogation. He is not trying to be his friend. Often they try and get they person angry or agitated to catch them if guard and get them to say something incriminating. Remembers cop can legally tell you anything true or not when you are being interviewed. A common one is to say “Your buddy in the next room already told us it was you”

A detectives job is literally to push people’s buttons in the hope that they will react and give themselves away.

Later, he tries to get self-incrimination by saying the boy is a shit person unless and he should agree that anyone who rapes should apologize. I.e. he's being really tricky to get the boy to say 'sorry' for something he didn't do. NEVER say you're sorry for something you didn't do because that IS admissible in court as an admission of guilt.

That detective isn't there for the truth, he's there to fuck up a life with a wrongful conviction.
