To be fair, it probably isn't what the sub thinks of when it says 'world news'. However, it probably should be when teachers have sex with minors and get off scott free in the G20, though.

Mods these days are like really small scale dictators trying to flex their imaginary power.

They don't give explanations, or, not good ones, half the time they insult you, the other half the time they chain mute you so you cannot actually question them.

The problem is that they're breed these echo chambers which punish any and all dissent and censor any opinion that even implies their view may be wrong. Feminist subs are a good example of this. r/AgainstHateSubreddits was one i encounted as well. How dare i refer to MGTOW as not grossly misogynistic!

While not world new per say, its not like it takes a ton of effort to say to someone 'yo, this isn't really worldwide news, maybe go to (insert area where story is from) news instead?'

The president is a "world leader" so accusations against him are relevant beyond the US. They have an ambiguous and contradictory stance on U.S. Politics that is worthy of criticism, as they can't seem to decide where the line is between "local US news" and "world news" when it comes to US politics.

But, "local crime" stories have always been discouraged and usually removed. If there was a larger scale report on the issue as a matter of human rights violations, or an international scandal, then it would/should be considered world news by the moderators. But, to play devil's advocate I can certainly see how they could remove a story like this under their rules, and not have that mean they "support the raping of children by women" as a result.
