If a girl rejects a guy, it is because he is not "good" enough, whether in looks, intelligence, socioeconomic background, parenting skills, success, earnings, etc.

If a guy rejects a girl, it is because he is too picky about what he wants, whether in looks, intelligence, socioeconomic background, parenting skills, success, earnings, etc

If a girl has high standards, she is seen as someone who of respects and values herself and doesn't give her love to just anybody.

If a guy has high standards, he is seen as being immoral and expecting too much of women.

Speaking a lot from personal experience. I would like someone about as successful as myself who shares my moral values and affinity for kids, and I've been criticized quite repeatedly by guys and girls and told I need to be open to marrying down.

Meanwhile, a girl who was every thing I ever wanted in a partner rejected me and no told her to lower her standards. We have a lot on common and got along really well, but she is better looking, richer, and slightly more successful, than I am, but no one told her to look beyond that. (I actually don't know why she rejected me - she is evasive about the subject of dating as a whole, the above is speculation).

Anyone else faced a similar experience?
