Crosspost "I've created Reddit to talk to my son without my ex-wife knowing about it." from /r/confession:
Apologies for bad English, I am from a country in the West, learnt my English from playing online games for 6 years. :p
So 2 days ago, my son unblocked me from Facebook and added me back as a friend. I was very surprised & happy at the same time. He sent me a message which said "Hi. 🙂" we talked for a hour and he told me he can't speak with me through Facebook anymore and just to download Reddit and talk through there so his mother will not see the messages. He gave me his user name and told me how to speak to him through Reddit.
I created Reddit imediatly after I saw the message and we talked for hours every day. We talked about his dream career choice, his current life, my current life.
Also learnt that his mother told him not to speak to me under any reason.
I have never been so happy in my life. I finaly have someone who I can rest my shoulder on. During those 7 years that I haven't met my ex and my son all I have been doing is abandoning myself, drinking, and just watching lots of television every single day. My life was a nightmare. This is my little confession.
Again, apologies for my bad English.
Edit: No more coins left.. 😕 sorry I gave out all the coins
Edit 2: Thank you for those kind awards! Thank you very much!

Background: I have an anatomical skeleton model that, for whatever reason, my oldest son enjoyed having in his room as a small child.
When his mom bought him a smartphone, the occasional conversations we'd have over text became far more frequent as he had emojis and could send me memes and such.
One day I ask what he's up to and he sends me a pic of a syndaver chillaxin' as a reply. I remark that the skeleton is gonna be so jealous.
At some point over the years he'd become unsure that the skeleton he remembered having in his room growing up was a thing that really happened, so he'd never brought it up or asked anyone about it, so he was kind of excited about this topic and asked where it went.
"I still have it."
"Is he okay?"
The "he" part I enjoyed. So I dug around through some old pictures on my phone and sent back,
"He's fine."
Then the conversation moved on.
A couple days pass and I don't hear from him, so I ask some follow-up questions about what we'd talked about and got back " isn't allowed to use his phone currently due to showing (or sending?) his friends inappropriate pictures at school."
I switch over to the conversation with his mom and ask her about it. Some roundabout story about getting a call from someone else's parent saying he'd sent their daughter a picture, what was the picture, they said they'd already deleted it, blah blah blah, I'm thinking unsolicited dick pics or something (or solicited dick pics, who knows how young they get started these days), but they confirm it wasn't bespoke CP or anything like that but won't explain/describe further than "inappropriate picture"... filling in what happened from subsequently obtained information, he'd apparently had a conversation with the girl about imaginary friends at some point during their friendship, had told her about the his childhood skelly friend, and had then updated and told her it was real, she called bullshit, he sent her the pic, she got caught with her phone in class, her parent is mad that she got in trouble and since there's someone with a penis tangentially involved with a bad thing happening he must've been responsible, etc etc.
Anyway. His mom looks through his phone and can't find anything she thinks it could possibly be, so assumes he's already deleted it, I mention running recovery software, but that's too much work for her, so she grounds him, asks where the pic came from, he doesn't know that she assumes it's deleted and thinks she knows what pic it is and is legitimately mad about it and doesn't want her to be mad at me because when she gets mad at people he doesn't see them anymore... anyway, she ultimately declares that he can have his phone back when he promises never to use his phone to talk with the person who sent it ever again or he'd be in even bigger trouble, buster!
And that's how we more-or-less didn't communicate for most of a year until I saw him again at Christmas and he could tell me about it face-to-face.
