So some time ago I've met this girl at basketball game, as my younger brother is a friend of her younger brother. It turns out that my mom is her teacher in high school (she's graduating soon), and also her mom is my mom's hairdresser for years. We exchanged numbers and social media contacts.

Anyway, I've heard stories from my mom about this girl (even though I've never met her before). She's a loner, as almost 3/4 of her class are girls and she's being bullied by them for years. She's very attached to my mom, and she's practically her best friend. In the past she wanted to change the class as bullying was becoming unbearable, but in that case my mom would no longer be her teacher, so she decided to stay. Her mom is my mom's hairdresser, and she has a lot of respect for her. She is always scheduling her haircut appointment at the end of business hours, so she can stay after business hours, doesn't have to rush the job and can make her hair perfect. She also admitted to her that she really enjoys talking to her, and that's why it takes her that long to do her hair. Also she's always refusing to take money, but my mom successfully pressures her to take her money every 2nd or 3rd time.

I was wondering whether is it worth trying anything with this girl, as both she and her mom are so close to my mom. There's always a good chance for things to go wrong. And on top of that, her younger brother is becoming high school freshman this fall, and my mom is going to be his teacher. It really does feel like shitting where I'm eating, and I especially don't want to risk destroying the connection my mom and her mom have. I don't think my mom would go to her hair salon any longer if things between me and that girl would turn nasty, and the girl will most likely keep on living with her parents after she graduates.

What would you do if you were me? Take a shot with this girl, or keep on searching?
