Just to clarify this took place in Ireland and will be using their classing system

When I was in 5th class (9th grade) our class just finished a puberty talk and had nothing planned afterwards we went outside for the last 2 hours. A boy I'll call X was playing soccer when he accidentally threw a ball a some girls in our class who were talking, they chased after him and he ran over to me and my friend and said "hide me" in a playful tone so I thought i t was a game so I made no attempt. The girls ran over and started kicking him and then I saw he was in pain. I didn't do anything until a teacher came over a called everyone inside, the girls had to apologise and that was it.

The same year we were learning about the Salem witch trails. We had a break and X was telling his friend she was like a witch, the whole thing went back and forth until later that day, X was called out of the class and spent the next 2 weeks in a lower class and wasn't allowed near the girl he made fun of.
