My ex wife hit me all the time. Never laid a finger on her. Once I left her (she was cheating, partying taking my money, etc) all’s people in my social circle did was assume I was abusive because I was “one of those construction guys”

Well, slaping men has always been acceptable. One reasoning is, that men aren´t hurt.
