On September 10, 2011, Alexis Rasmussen was murdered and hidden in a shallow grave in Morgan County. Her body wasn't found for over a month (October 18, 2011). She was 16.
Last week, Dea Millerberg, received an early release from Prison. She served for 4 years and 2 months after her 2014 conviction. During this time she received "credit" for completing substance abuse, culinary, and business programs.
Here is what she admitted to: - Paying Alexis in drugs for babysitting services. - Drinking and using drugs with Alexis. - Illegally obtaining prescription drugs. - Engaging in "sexual activity" with Alexis. - Watching Eric Millerberg (Dea's husband) inject her with methamphetamine and and heroine. - Trying to resuscitate Alexis herself, and failing. (She was an RN, whose license had recently expired) - Not calling 911. - Helping dispose of Alexis' body. - Leaving their six year old home alone, but taking their toddler with them when disposing of the body.
Here is what she was convicted of: - Descration of a body. - Obstructing Justice. - Illegally obtaining prescription drugs.
