It’s the centenary of men getting the vote in the UK, guess what happens when you search for it on Google

Whilst everyone makes a big deal of the anniversaries of women getting the vote, it’s in fact a hundred years this year since all men got the vote in the UK (before that it was titled men and unofficially their wives).

Of course when you search for this on Google, it “corrects” you by including results for WOmen getting the vote.

Fun facts on this too - all women got the vote just 10 years after men, and without the risk of having to freeze to death/be torn to pieces by enemy machine guns.

Also the lauded suffragettes did far less that people acknowledge in gaining women the vote in the UK, there were other, far more moderate groups who, with the help and backing of male MPs did far more towards getting women the vote, but who (without having jumped beneath racehorses) were far less newsworthy.

Most women did not want to the right to vote because they would be assigned to mandatory bucket duty and the draft. A bunch of idiot men decided to give them the right to vote without any of the requirements
