Two things, that story is riddled with holes.

She alternates between her and her friend being wise to the world and them being completely inept on the level of infants.

And second.... unfortunately, young people but especially young women, are having more sex and at an earlier age than before.... at least in my nation and I am pretty sure it is also true in California.

This is one of the reasons I invoke context so often; In the old days, a 14 year old girl was taken to be a virgin or at least very close to it.

Nowadays, it is even odds whether or not a 14 year old girl has had sex before or not... and I have known an infuriatingly high amount of cases where a 14 year old girl has had sex with double digit amount of men. I would contend that women that live like that and young women that are not sluts, should be assessed differently by law.

NOTE :

It is infuriating to me because these girls have a high tendency to become teenage mothers... I don't care what a woman does to herself, if she wants to devalue herself that is entirely up to her.... but the child will suffer immensely for his whole life as a result of the mother's behavior and that to me, is an atrocity. Anyway;
