The term "gender pay gap" is used as a propaganda tool by feminists to claim that women experience sex discrimination which reduces their income, and that therefore women need all manner of incentives, protections and special treatment, up to and including additional pay & bonuses just because they are female.

When examined objectively, this claim is quickly shown to be completely and utterly false.

Definition:

Gender Pay Gap = Gender Earnings Gap - Effect of Personal Choices About Work on Income

Personal Choices About Work include:

Hours worked per week
Choice of occupation
Vacation days taken per year
Taking time out of the workforce / out of the industry
Working hours flexibility, i.e. willingness to work extended hours or after hours when the demands of the job require.
Maximum distance you're willing to commute from home to work for a better paying job
Willingness or not to work in dangerous or dirty conditions vs a comfortable, airconditioned office
Willingness or not to work at a remote location rather than a city, e.g. a mine site

[I'm going from memory; I'm sure there are others I've forgotten. Warren Farrell listed 25 such choices in his book Why Men Earn More.]

When all the personal choices are factored in, the gender pay gap is revealed to be 0%.

There have been many claims to the contrary, i.e. that the gender pay gap is > 0%. When these claims are examined, it's always the case that they have not accounted for one or more of the personal choices about work.

The fewer personal choices accounted for, the larger the bogus "pay gap" reported.

The oft-quoted number of "77 cents on the dollar" (now sometimes "81 cents on the dollar") accounts for zero of the personal choices about work. It makes the very sexist assumption that women are completely bereft of agency and can merely do whatever men/society tell them to, hence they bear no responsibility at all for controlling their income. This is so obviously false that it's laughable to see feminists stupidly pushing their nonsense with a straight face.
