A Leesburg woman who reported an attempted rape earlier this month was arrested Tuesday by Ocala police on suspicion of making a false report about the case.

Nicole Hosmer, 22, told OPD Detective Jeffrey Hurst that she doesn’t know why she lied and that the man did not make any sexual advances on her, according to an arrest report. After the interview, Hosmer was transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was booked.

Jail records show Hosmer was released shortly after midnight on $500 bond.
