TMAs often have teen and even kid blackbelts, so women being blackbelts isn't anything special. A black belt means very little anyway.
BJJ on the other hand allegedly values its black belt title, not allowing any men under the age of 19 to become one. However, it allows women who have the athleticism, strength and skill of young teen boys to become one. This by definition, makes a female karate blackbelt legit, because she passed the same standard even if it is significantly lower, but a female bjj blackbelt a fraud, because she is inferior to late teen boys who can't become blackbelts.
I really just want some consistency. If a 110lb bjj woman can kick my ass, then a highly skilled 13 year old boy of the same mass and strength could potentially do the same. A lot of people have gotten angry passionately debating the former, while I had never had in my life someone tell me a young teen boy would destroy me in a fight.
At the same time:
-There are no movies with young teen boys kicking ass, there are dozens with women
-There are very few self-defense demonstrations with young teen boys defending themselves against 200lb men, there are thousands with women
-There are virtually no staged fights of a young teen boy beating an adult man, there are quite a few with women.
Martial arts used to be about the martial excellence of men, yet it has been usurped by feminism and girl power. I personally find this offensive and degrading to martial arts.
