Quoted from NY state's code of conduct for judges

A judge shall not hold membership in any organization that practices invidious discrimination on the basis of age, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability or marital status. This provision does not prohibit a judge from holding membership in an organization that is dedicated to the preservation of religious, ethnic, cultural or other values of legitimate common interest to its members.

Could membership in a women's bar association violate this? Their group's website makes the following statements

we support women and girls around the world

They have a questionnaire on their website for judges running for an elected position. In that document is the following.

(a) Explain how the principles of diversity and equality enter into your current practice and (b) how they will be furthered if you become a member of the bench or if you continue on the bench. (c) Explain what activities or programs you have participated in concerning advocacy for women and families. (d) Explain how you would respond if a woman or minority attorney or litigant complained of discriminatory mistreatment in a matter (e.g.,. motion, deposition, hearing, trial, etc.) pending before your court. (e) Discuss any experience you have dealing with victims of domestic violence.

I am filing an objection to a ruling made by a family court judge. I am considering any and all options. I will be talking to my attorney on Tuesday and am throwing shit against a wall until something sticks. I have to be careful as obviously, the judge carries a big stick and I'm sure will have no issue using it on me.
