Female comedian's show falsely claimed husband was "abusive", so he's suing her. Nearly EVERY single news report of this doesn't even mention her vile allegation, & instead claim she's a 'hero' & its "a free speech issue" when it isn't.

"A mum who had sex with her 15-year-old son because he seduced her has avoided jail." "HE seduced HER"- so now a CHILD is to blame for his FIFTY year old mother raping HIM?? Because he is male? Can you BELIEVE the double standards boys & males now face??!!

Two women murder young male "because it was something they'd always wanted to try doing". As usual, news reports keep it off the front page, and bury it in sub sections. Imagine the reporting if the genders were reversed?

Male politician labelled 'pervert' in national paper-Because he disagreed with feminists who demand a new law SPECIFICALLY giving automatic prison sentences for men taking 'Upskirting' photos. Today, they hung panties on his home "to shame him". The reality of free speech under feminism

The Green party officially announces a huge change, tells people "DON'T give any money to charity or men anymore-give it ONLY to WOMEN instead". Can we now admit the modern Left are the worst man haters & feminists? And I write this as a shocked & stunned Left winger.

Feminist favourite, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, learns the hard way that-even if youre a White Knight-somewhere, somehow, there'll always be an offended feminist who can take you down, as he's accused of 'groping'. Ahhh, the irony.....

Her GoFundMe page makes for interesting reading (my italics):

Hi! I am Louise Beamont, my stage name is Louise Reay.

I hope you’ll forgive me – but I need to ask you something. You see, I am being sued over one of my stand-up shows.

Not just by anyone. By my husband (now separated of course).

He has a lot more money than me and he says that I accused him of abusing me in my show. And so he’s suing me, which in my opinion is simply an attempt to silence me.

As standup comedians, I believe it’s the very definition of our job to talk about our lives and social issues.

So this has become a free speech issue - and free speech means everything to me.

The husband's solicitors (Taylor Hampton Solicitors Limited) also put out a statement, reprinted in The Guardian:

"We have from the outset made clear to Ms Beamont that our client is not in any way seeking to restrict or 'silence' her comedy or its content, except to the very limited extent that it involves the publication of unjustified false allegations and private information relating to him.

"For an extended period last summer, following their separation, Ms Beamont repeatedly performed a comedy show which identified our client verbally and in still and moving images, contained private information about him and his relationship with Ms Beamont, and made very serious and inflammatory allegations of wrongdoing against him.

"These allegations included the entirely false suggestion that our client's relationship with Ms Beamont was an abusive one.

"No right to freedom of expression or artistic licence can extend to the publication of such seriously defamatory and false allegations, or the unjustified misuse of our client's private information."

Males me sick how she typically plays the feminist victim card repeatedly-

"Wah! I'm not as rich as him!"

"Wah! I'm just trying to spread social issues!"

When the reality is she made a serious allegation about her ex that in modern times could ruin his life.

What does THAT have to do with being the brave sjw she tries to claim she is?

All the media and her post tries to play her up as brave and as if its about free speech and was just a few "harmless jokes".

Accusing men of such crimes without proof is not a joke, its a modern disease.

Telling comment from another review of Hard Mode, the show in question:

Every so often, Reay returns to the other theme of her show, which is her recent breakup with her husband, which seems completely at odds with the other material and too raw for comfort (She even shows us some video footage from the wedding.)

To be fair to her, others in the small crowd seem to get this a lot more than I do, laughing at her comments, but it really isn’t working for me.

At one point, the presenters try to impress the horror of living in such a society upon me by making me go and stand in the corner for five minutes.

Which probably says it all. This is neither a biting commentary nor a successful stand-up show.

It's so disgusting that she can lie about abuse and still come out as the victim and people just give her money for it. Why does society allow this? I wish we could come together and shame people like this.

I wish we could come together and shame people like this

Despite having just Googled her, I'm not in the business of Twitter mobs and I'm against shaming.

Besides, it's as yet unproven as to whether he was abusive or not - although I do note she seems not to find this aspect of any importance and instead is claiming the right to defame her ex-husband under the guise of free speech in her defence.

That sounds like it smacks of hypocrisy and double-standards ...

Louise Reay on Youtube being interviewed about Hard Mode - the show the ex-husband is suing her over.

One choice and slightly ironic quote: here she talks about the fact that she hasn't done enough publicity and so she hasn't sold enough tickets:

In an ideal world, we'd all just focus on our shows, right? But then in reality, then you'd have no audience to show to because you haven't thought about the rest ... So I'm at this point where I'm trying to sell tickets and errr [it's] difficult(!)

Bizarrely, their wedding video is still available on Youtube -don't know what the fuck that's about ....

Here are some reviews of Reay's work:

... solo performer, Louise Reay.

Ostensibly, she was performing both parts of a duo, which is a promising idea, but in fact her largely improvised set comprised a baffling dialogue between characters that had little sense of purpose and no sense of direction. ‘I don’t know where I’m going with this,’ she confessed at one point, and it was hard to disagree. Laughs were not forthcoming.

Hardly a surprise from a woman whose GoFundMe page claims that "As standup comedians, I believe it’s the very definition of our job to talk about our lives and social issues." Errr ...

Here's a review of Hard Mode - the show in which she allegedly defames her ex-husband:

It’s confrontational and theatrical, but it isn’t exactly funny as such [ ... ] Hard Mode is probably more bleak absurdist theatre than it is comedy

I think I know what this reviewer is trying to say here ...

At its core, Hard Mode is about a very recent and raw heartbreak, and the show is intended as catharsis as much as its an interactive protest against the subjection of a people she obviously loves deeply. The critique of an authoritarian regime is, more fundamentally, the lament of a creative soul for something she can’t have, and it is uncomfortably personal, and really heartbreaking [ ... ] It’s impossible to say that it’s strictly enjoyable, but there’s an abundance of admiration for both Reay’s ambition, and willingness to bear her scars, as fresh as they still are.

Sounds like a right barrel of laughs, doesn't it? Jesus H. Christ ...

I also think those references in the review to "uncomfortably personal, and really heartbreaking" and Reay's "willingness to bear her scars, as fresh as they still are" is highly suggestive that her personal life played more of a role in the show than just two minutes' worth as she seems to be claiming ...
