Okay. So far the comments have been about you needing to "man up" and just go to work. Which yes, it is important to develop a good work ethic so generally speaking, unless it's an emergency, you should give your employer at least 1 shifts worth of notice that you're calling off. If you work 8s, you call off 8 hours before your shift. Also, making an attempt to find coverage for your shift is also much more responsible.

All that aside, I'm assuming your original issue is the fact that your co-worker texted you speaking to you like this. If that's the case that is UNACCEPTABLE. Some here would say it's a bitch move but I would show this to your manager. This is harassment. Plain and simple. This is the equivalent of high school online bullying.

Yes, you could act like the standard teenager would and try to call him out, or battle with him, but that's feeding into his game and then YOU are also in the wrong. Right now, it's just him. You calling off is none of his business. It's between you and management. He involved himself in something that had NOTHING to do with him, regardless of him having to pick up your slack.

Not only that, the method he used to get your phone number probably wasn't a legitimate one and he had to have violated some kind of privacy standard with your company.

Either way, I would report this to your direct supervisor or the store manager. If it is brushed aside, then the company you work for truly does not give a shit about it's employees and it's time to leave.

Wow sounds like a hostile work environment to me. Also there are multiple people creating this situation, at least the texter and the person who gave him your cell. Time for everyone to get raped by the thick black dick of Human Resources.

Call your human resources number. Tell them that you are a 17 year old boy and that multiple Adults are conspiring to harass you. Tell them that this is causing extreme emotional distress and that it's hard for you to deal with as a minor, it's affecting your studies and perhaps the manager is complicit.

Bonus round do you like money? Do you like receiving money without having to work for it. Search for a local labour lawyer and see if he wants to take a case we're multiple adults are harassing a minor and causing extreme emotional distress. You might be able to walk away with a settlement check.

If anyone says anything about your performance say that you are a boy and that this is your first job. Ideal situation is you find a female lawyer or HR woman and trigger her maternal defensive instict by crying in her arms about your emotional suffering. Remember the only thing that is Alpha is winning. It doesn't matter how you win as long as you win.

Sounds like you do this a lot in the short amount of time you've been working there. How should you handle this? Get your ass to work and develop some work ethic. You'll thank yourself later in life, and you won't be seen as an unreliable coworker.

Dont be a bitch and do your job unless its a life or death reason. From the sounds of it, a trend. Sure this prick doesnt have a right to randomly text you. Commit to your job if you cant make it help find someone to replace you. Surely you know someone else that works there.
