Something else I think would be useful to point out:

Ben de Pear was educated at Oakham School - a school with annual fees ranging from £20K to £32K a year (USD$28k / $45k) - he appears not to have gone to university.
Cathy Newman was educated at Charterhouse School - a school with annual fees ranging from £31K to £38K a year (USD$44k / $54k). She then went to Lady Margaret Hall at the University of Oxford (Lady Margaret Hall was Oxford's first all-women college, opening in 1878).
Jon Snow, who is the main editor at C4 News and has strong editorial control over the direction and content, is the son of the Bishop of Whitby, and was educated at Pilgrim's School, Winchester and later at St Edward's School, Oxford the annual fees for which are £18k - £21k (USD$25k / $30k) and £27k - £36k (USD$38k / $51k) respectively. Snow's education then took an interesting turn - he failed his high school exams and had to re-do them a year later, finally getting into the University of Liverpool to study Law. But he was kicked out of there for his part in an anti-apartheid protest. After that, family connections with Lord Longford got him a job first as a youth worker at a homeless charity. He later a job as a news correspondent. Quite how he managed to go from being a university drop out to a charity worker to a news correspondent seems incredible - until you remember that his cousin is Peter Snow, one of the UK's most famous broadcast news anchors.

My point here is not to be envious - they had no say in where they were born and educated and each, in their own way, even Snow, must have worked damned hard to get where they have got.

And neither am I trying to say that coming from a privileged background should be some kind of barrier to taking part in left-wing politics (George Orwell was a child of some privilege and yet no one would argue seriously against his brilliance for instance).

But what does count is that if someone like Newman is going to sit in a studio and harangue Jordan Peterson about how hard she has had it as a woman and how easy he has had it as a man - and by extension how all men have it easy - and if she is going to have the temerity to make demands for the 93 male CEOs of FTSE 100 companies to step aside and allow women to fill their shoes when both her line editor and her editor in chief are privileged white upper middle and upper class men from fee-paying schools of exactly the sort which most feminists complain are ruining the world for white privileged women like her then the stench of the hypocrisy fairly wafting off of that is enough to make you puke.
