In “On All Fours”, Girls – already famous for bad and discomfiting sex scenes after just two short seasons – depicts a rather unpleasant sexual encounter between Adam (Adam Driver) and his girlfriend Natalia (UnREAL’s Shiri Appleby). After a respectful encounter earlier in the episode, where Natalia clearly sets her boundaries, when she and Adam have sex again he asks her to crawl toward him on all fours, tells her he wants to “fuck you from behind, hit the walls with you”, then ejaculates on her body despite her protesting, “No no, no, no, not on my dress!”. Once it’s done, Natalia says to Adam, “I don’t think I like that. I, like, really didn’t like that”.

The episode, like many chapters of Girls in its seven-year run, drew a great deal of controversy from viewers and critics who wondered, “Was that a rape scene in Girls?”. “Did Girls just visually assault us?” asked The Hollywood Reporter, and soon other outlets were weighing in on an interesting but short-lived discussion about the line between “bad sex” and assault, and the limited capacity of verbal consent.

Dynamic had shifted out of HER favor. HER. Favor.

Think about the mindset this says of the writer or women who identify with it.

Oh my god. That story. Just go read it. Its atrocious. Its like every single bad stereotype about a man. There's body shaming of a man, impotence shaming of a man, age shaming, and on and on.

Apparently she was attracted to a fat old man. 34 is an old man. And she ignored the fat when they first met.

The way he looked at her then was like an exaggerated version of the expression she’d seen on the faces of all the guys she’d been naked with, not that there were that many—six in total, Robert made seven. He looked stunned and stupid with pleasure, like a milk-drunk baby, and she thought that maybe this was what she loved most about sex—a guy revealed like that.

But here's the 'empowered' woman swimming through rivers of dicks, apparently. Yet the man's sexuality is disgusting.

When they’d finished that round of drinks, she said, boldly, “Should we get out of here, then?,” and he seemed briefly hurt, as if he thought she was cutting the date short, but she took his hand and pulled him up, and the look on his face when he realized what she was saying, and the obedient way he trailed her out of the bar, gave her that elastic-band snap again, as did, oddly, the fact that his palm was slick beneath hers.

Yes, she was making signals to this old fat man she wanted to fuck.

So much of sex is about power, and in Cat Person Roupenian sketches a scenario familiar to many women: one where they feel powerless to stop a sexual encounter. Those who have connected to Roupenian’s story have done so because they relate to an encounter when allowing sex to continue feels less complicated than stopping it. If sex is a negotiation of power – and in many ways it is, especially when it’s with a new partner – women are often disadvantaged by the limits of verbal consent, and by the notion that they must accommodate and appreciate all male expressions of desire.

WTF? Margot, the female character in "Cat Person" is the one that initiates the sexual encounter. The male character, Robert, was thinking of ending the date and taking her home. It's clear from the entire narrative that Robert gives her plenty of opportunity to back down. Margot doesn't think at all that Robert will force her to do anything she doesn't want to, but instead decides to go ahead with the encounter because she doesn't want to feel "spoiled and capricious". She's not disadvantaged at all and doesn't feel obligated to have sex with him because she feels she must "must accommodate and appreciate all male expressions of desire". No, she simply feels bad about stopping something she put in motion. So, she goes ahead and has sex with him. Since she was already having second thoughts about it, she unsurprisingly doesn't enjoy it, and ends the relationship after the encounter.

It’s interesting but not entirely surprising that so few champions of Roupenian’s story are men. What women are reading as relatable in the story – a scenario where sex happens although it is not entirely desired – men have seldom experienced.

This is the worst bit of the opinion piece. How the hell does she know that men have seldom experienced it? My guess is she believes that "men are always interested in sex", which is complete and utter bullshit. In my view, the reason men aren't championing this story are (1) the protagonist is female, and therefore men don't identify with her and (2) men don't dwell a bad sexual encounter and act as victims, instead they simply put it behind them.

An interesting read which shows how Myopic the feminist focused are.

It again shows how the Feminist sees their sex and control of sex as a major asset in the relational transactions. Only women are acted upon and males are never subjected to behaviours that manifest "the insidious power discrepancies that were once hidden in the so-called privacy of a sexual encounter".

The view that only women negotiate const and only women have to "must accommodate and appreciate all ... expressions of desire."is anti-feminist and also biased in far too many ways to list.

Again we see the feminuts demanding attention, special treatment and inequality because of their female wilting ways.
