Besides the terrible toll that prostate cancer takes on men themselves, tens of thousands of wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters are devastated by the emotional, physical, spiritual, and economic impacts of this disease each year.

Can someone rephrase this in a more easy to understand matter? It feels like they are saying women feel the effects of prostate cancer because their husbands can die?

I can't believe they hate to point out women suffer when men suffer so people would care about men suffering

It comes down to voting habits too.

If women tend vote for things like better health care for themselves, and men tend to vote against that for themselves and instead for more military spending the outcomes are fairly predictable.
