Massively, I was very surprised to learn that India has a growing MRA movement.

Depends on whether you mean Men's Rights as an active movement or the numbers of people who are more sympathetic to what they have to say and are less likely to believe the demonising narrative surrounding them.

If it's the former, I'd say it's grown gradually; the latter has grown much more considerably.

But that's entirely my impression - I've no evidence to support that. It's just my hunch.

In numbers the MRM has grown. In effectiveness however it hasn't because the label is being co-opted by tradcons.

Readers would probably be aware that feminists well and truly retain the upper hand in Australia at the moment. On the one hand there are (probably) not any more people in the last 12 months willing to stick their heads over the parapet and speak against feminism and/or for men's rights in public fora.

On the other hand there is substantially more obvious resistance visible in social media and in (mostly anonymous) readers's comments in the MSM. In fact in many instances now most or even all readers comments are pro men's issues or anti-feminism. If the real/chosen names can be believed then this resistance is coming from both men & women.

I suspect this is partly because of more people are reading/thinking/talking about men's issues, and partly because many feminists no longer bother to comment in the belief that they have essentially won the debate and have sidelined/fatally compromised any significant pockets of resistance.

We all need to take a longer view, keep working and not expect quick results. I have personally known MRA men who have expected quick results and burned out. There is no end date to our struggle. If we want rights and respect, we have to work at it for the rest of our lives and pass it to the next generation.
