According to police, the driver was booked as part of legal action.

A non-bail able case was taken against him as per the complaint filed by the women.

These women hit him with stones, injured and put him in hospital, bit him, even removed his underwear in public is under bail. The driver is arrested under unbailable warrant and these women with criminal history is given bail, this is blatant injustice and unlike of Kerala.

In many domestic violence cases, men are by default considered as violent party and is remove from his own home he built with hard work (many times outside in middle eastern deserts), exactly copying policies in west.

It is extremely bizarre that state of Kerala is totting western ideologies when dealing with a local case. Soon that good society will crack down.

It seems Reddit has a bot that looks for certain types of user behaviour that indicate spamming or brigading. Sometimes innocent users get shadowbanned along with the bad guys. Usually they can fix this if they contact the admins.

Kochi: Central Zone IG P Vijayan has directed the special branch to conduct an enquiry into the registration of a case against the Uber driver who was allegedly attacked by a group of women the other day.

The direction has been issued to probe the reason for registering a non-bailable case against Shafeeq, an Uber driver in Kochi, who was allegedly attacked by three women.

The Central Zone IG has intervened in the issue after there were widespread protests in social media regarding the police probe.

Police have registered two cases in connection with the incident. The case registered by Maradu police on the complaint that Shafeeq attacked the women and the case registered on Shafeeq's complaint.

Shafeeq was allegedly beaten up by 3 women, who had opted for carpooling but then wanted the cab for themselves near Vyttila junction on Wednesday. They demanded to evict an already seated passenger and when Shafeeq refused they engaged in physical attack. The women allegedly hit Shafeeq using stones and bit him.

Even though the women were arrested for the assault, which included hitting on head with stone, stripping Shafeeq in public, they were later released on bail.

The DGP had ordered a probe on a complaint that bailable sections were slapped on the women.

However, a non-bailable case was taken against Shafeeq as per the complaint filed by the women, for humiliating womanhood.
