Engaging in sexual intercourse is consenting to nothing more than engaging in sexual intercourse; it is independent of consenting to parenthood (parental rights and responsibilities). [Feminists argue that when men engage in sex, they automatically consent to fatherhood(they mean child support). This is the exact argument anti-abortion pro-life(consider life to begin at the fertilization of the zygote) groups use to criminalize abortion as murder and miscarriages as involuntary manslaughter.]

Parenthood should be a well-defined contract. It comes with rights: have access to the child at a minimum and custody at the maximum, your consent is required to make important decisions for the child before reaching adulthood, etc. It also comes with responsibilities: you are required to provide enough financial and emotional support, act in the best interest of the child(i.e. report any abuse, not commit any abuse, etc), etc.

Every parent should have consented to parenthood by word or action.

  • If a man and a woman both knowingly conceive a child, and the child is birthed, they become parents from the birth onwards.

  • If a man and a woman conceive a child, but the man refuses parenthood before birth, then he should not be obligated to be a parent. If the woman then decides to abort, the man should offer to pay atleast half the expenses involved in abortion. If woman gives birth, then she will be the sole parent as she alone made that decision.

  • If a man and a woman conceive a child, but the woman refuses parenthood before birth, then she has two options: either abort or make adoption/foster arrangements with state/clients before giving birth. If she doesn't want to be the mother she should not be forced to. The man has no obligation to pay any amount for abortion expenses.

  • If a man and a woman conceive a child, and both the man and woman refuse parenthood before birth, then they have two options: either abort or make adoption/foster arrangements with state/clients before giving birth. Both should pay for abortion expenses, if used.

  • If a man and a woman conceive a child, but the woman didn't inform the man of pregnancy before birth, then the man didn't consent to parenthood. The woman is the sole parent in this case.

  • If a man rapes a woman, and she conceived as a result, she can choose to be the parent or refuse parenthood (either abort or make adoption/foster arrangements with state/clients before giving birth). If she refuses parenthood, the man should pay for any expenses involved, in addition to judicial charges/fines/sentence. If she chooses parenthood and the man refuses parenthood, the man should financially reimburse her for atleast a fraction of total child support. If both want parenthood, then the contact between them has to be minimized, with custody being prioritized to the woman.

  • If a woman rapes a man, and she conceived as a result, she has a choice to be the parent or refuse parenthood (either abort or make adoption/foster arrangements with state/clients before giving birth). If she refuses parenthood, the man should not have to pay for any expenses involved. If she chooses parenthood and the man refuses parenthood, the woman is the sole parent, the man is obligated to pay nothing. If both want parenthood, then the contact between them has to be minimized, with custody being prioritized to the man.
