“Rather than recognize the needs of a suicidally depressed student, the University placed her complaint in the category of its ‘Sexual Assault, Sexual Misconduct, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Stalking, and/or Hostile Environment Policies,’” John’s complaint alleges.

So they punished him. They punished him, rather than help him, during his time of greatest need, and personal pain. This goes beyond just the usual bureaucratic incompetence, it rises, in my opinion, to cruelty. Figuratively speaking, they were kicking a man when he was down, because they could, because he was a man. I think they need to look up the translation of the Latin phrase, "Alma Mater". Clearly, they never knew it's meaning, or have long forgotten it.

From here, John’s complaint describes a supposedly flawed, discriminatory investigation process that was “motivated on the basis of sex.” In the filing, John alleges the university ignored video evidence of the “vindictive” motives of his ex-girlfriend. (John’s complaint alleges an acquaintance filmed Jane saying, “I want to fuck up [John’s] reputation; I want to make sure he never has a girlfriend… here or anywhere…and I want him never to be able to have a social life.”) Further, John says the university allowed Jane to “cherry pick” text messages used as evidence, failed to contact witnesses supplied by John, and refused to consider the expert opinion of his therapist who, he claims, would have reported progress in John’s mental health and a complete severing of ties between him and his ex-girlfriend.

Why am I not surprised? Another case where there is not only insufficient evidence to "convict" this guy in an extrajudicial tribunal, but direct proof that the accused was lying just to ruin his life. Apparently even proving your innocence doesn't matter to these people.

What if this was the straw that broke the camel's back? What if he killed himself? Notre Dame NEEDS to understand that they messed up in a tremendous way.

What makes this even worse is that the school is supposedly run by religious, catholics who are therefore "good" people, according to what they think about themselves. The older u get, the more u realize no 1 should act like they have moral superiority.
