False allegations are an intolerable job hazard for male teachers. Still, they all live in fear of them.

I'm not going to let it discourage me from chasing my career goals, but it is something to look out for. Just like women should try not to get caught alone in an alley at night, male teachers should avoid being caught alone with a female student. Predators come in all shapes, ages, and genders.

It's not the victim's fault when something happens, but there are steps that can be taken in all crimes to lower your chance of being victimized.

There should be insurance for this. Like malpractice insurance for doctors. I bet a VERY HIGH % of malpractice suits are also bullshit.

The school should pay for the insurance.
