Well i cannot get a "CSVS" study that states such, but i can get collective of 200+ studies if thats okay? they generally support that position or there abouts

Consistent with prior reviews, pooled prevalence was slightly greater for female- compared to male-perpetrated physical IPV: more than 1 in 4 women (28.3%) and 1 in 5 men (21.6%) reported perpetrating physical violence in an intimate relationship. This pattern of results remained when we calculated pooled prevalence estimates by sample and study characteristics, with few exceptions. Findings underscore the need for interventions that acknowledge the use of violence by women in intimate relationships.

If you look through the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) from the CDC that gave rise to the 1 in 5 women have been raped in their lifetime nonsense and look at the previous 12 month numbers they're pretty similar, even in that study. You just need to add made to penetrate for the men.

EDIT: Here's a copy of a post I made recently that went through it. One slight edit.

Using tables 4.1 and 4.2 we see that the estimated number of victims in the 12-months before this study was 6,982,000 women and 5,691,000 men. You may notice there are no statistics for men being raped, because they only use being penetrated as the definition of rape.

If we move on to table 4.6 however, we can fix this. Leaving out sexual coercion, unwanted sexual contact and non-contact unwanted sexual experiences, as I do not know if those were included in the women rape statistics at the beginning, you are left with made to penetrate at 586,000 men. So if we add that to the statistics at the start we get 6,982,000 women, and 6,277,000 men. That's hardly overwhelming, and that's just the physical/sexual side. Let's take a look at psychological.

Tables 4.9 and 4.10, in the 12 month period prior to the study there were 16,578,000 women who experienced any psychological aggression and 20,548,000 men. Hmmm.

This is a study on DV from 2007.

The heart of it is this:

Among relationships with nonreciprocal violence, women were reported to be the perpetrator in a majority of cases (70.7%), as reported by both women (67.7%) and men (74.9%).

So, in relationships with only one abuser that abuser is a woman 70% of the time. Women even self reported being the sole abuser 67.7% of the time.

Partner Abuse - NISVS 2011 (Black et al)

The most recent, large-scale national study on partner violence (PV ) victimization, the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS), conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Black et al., 2011), drew on a sample of 4,741,000 women and 5,365,000 men. It reported 12-month prevalence rates of female physical PV victimization off 4.3 million minor (e.g., slapping, pushing) and 3.2 million severe (e.g., punching, beating up) female victimization, and for males minor PV was at 5.1 million and severe at 2.2 million. Overall lifetime rates were 32.9% for Females and 28.2% for males. In contrast to the NISVS and the Desmarais et al. review, national crime victimization surveys, conducted by the United States Department of Justice, have traditionally reported much higher victimization rates for females. In, the latest such survey (Catalano, 2012), rates of past-year physical abuse victimization were found to be 1.1 per 1,000 for males and 5.9 per 1,000 For females. The higher proportion of female to male victims (84% vs. 16%) as well as the low overall rates are due to nature of‘the survey and the questions asked of“ the respondents. Whereas crime surveys Frame PV as criminal activity and most respondents do not view interpersonal violence as criminal, nearly all Other surveys use the Conflict Tactics Scale and ask about inter-personal violence in the context of escalating conflict, yielding higher and more reliable rates (Straus, 1999).

Victim-Perpetrator Relationship in Lifetime Reports of Violence by an Intimate Partner (NIVSC 2011 - page 48)

Approximately 86.1% of women and 83.6% of men who experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime reported that the perpetrator was a current intimate partner at the time when the violence first occurred, while less than a quarter (21.9% and 23.1%, respectively) experienced one of these forms of intimate partner violence by someone who was a former intimate partner at the time the violence first occurred (data not shown).
