Not only would a policy like this discriminate men because they wouldn't have as much leave for the same jobs, but it would also hurt women. While women are taking their three days per month off, the men will be picking up the slack and advancing up the corporate ladder more quickly, thus widening the earnings gap even further.

Some are concerned that if women are taking extra days of paid leave, it could encourage companies to hire more men. In Italy, only 61% of women work — below the European average of 72%.

Either that or companies make the shift toward hiring only independent contractors who get paid for the work performed. That hurts everyone because contractors typically don't get benefits.

Italy has always been a Terribly Queer Place.

I remember many years ago being given a tour of Milan's red light zones. One Enormous Roundaboput was for the Trannies - and they were amazing to see, behaved hilariously and were the sweetest bunch of hookers I ever met! There were far more Tranny hookers than straight ladies on the streets. Catholic Countries do cause the most interesting perversions.

And then people start to pay woman less or just just avoid hire them as full time worker. Bad for man and bad for women. To any company this mean a full month worth of salary lost. That will never happen.
