Committed to a work event that is scheduled for late next month back, in February. In that time a friend of mine sent me a wedding invite and i said yes, not looking at my work calendar.

Now i have the president of the organization putting on the event asking us to make it work while my long time friends wedding is the same day.

Can't get anyone to cover for me in my company...would you cancel the work obligation or tell your friend sorry you can't make this one.
