His responsibilities to his partner is when the partnership still holds. When it ends, responsibilities end. That is so with all partnerships. You pull this shit with your college, your scholarship ends; you end your business partnership, there'd be no more financial support, you denounce your own family, you don't expect them to continue to support you.

Just because some crappy law allows does not mean it is right. It was once legal to put Rosa Parks in jail, it was once legal to perform lobotomy, it was once legal to execute homosexuals.

What a legal mess! Given the UK's reputation for being generous to women, she'll get everything she asks for. It doesn't matter if it is unjust.

I don't understand how it can be unclear if they are married or not. Is it because of some reciprocity agreement with Syria? There's no requirement to register in the UK?
