I have read that more male than female infants and very young children are killed. Does anyone know if this is true?

Well internationally I know females are killed more. But that was due to China and a couple of years old.

True is highly subjective given your question and how it's phrased. There are no hard and fast statistics and sources are poor.

Evidence form some sources that boys under the age of one are more likely to die by age 1 and by violence. That is a figure for the UK and not global.

When it comes to infection it is also reported that boys are more likely to die below age 5 due to gendered differences in Immune systems - In developed countries.

Many sources report that in certain developing countries Girls die at a higher rate below age five - and this is of course then used as automatic proof of Female Infant Gendercide. Cause of death is not given.

I'll see what I can dig out as sources refs - but the bottom line is we really don't know because the Statistics are below poor globally and far too may folks are just Advocates of the Whoever Screams Loudest school of research and politics.
