Depends on how severe your acne and how old you are. If you are around 18 or above I would consider accutane. Read about it on the internet and make your own decision if you want to use it or not. I have and it was totally worth it.

I used to have cystic acne all over my back, and some on my face (plus a tonne of blackheads). It was pretty bad. Did accutane for about 6 months to a year. 3 x 20mg pills a day. I'm fairly certain 60mg a day is much lower than the average dose (though the dosage depends on your hormones, so that's something your dermatologist needs to tell you).

My face dried up but not unbearably. My lips dried out badly, to the point where skin was cracking. Buy Lucas pawpaw ointment for that (red tub/bottle). There are other (major) side effects but I had no issues.

Acne has practically cleared up completely. Occasional small blemishes, but my face is 99% clear 99% of the time. You don't even need facial scrubs or other products.
