My close friend in college confessed to me that he was raped in highschool by a middle aged women that he knew from work. He was I believe 16 at the time, and the age of consent is 17 in his state. But it's worse than that. The women was into BDSM, and would tie him up and do painful things to him. He said part of it felt good, but part of it really hurt. Think 50 Shades of Gray.

I'm ashamed to admit that my first response was pretty negative. Before that I had just confessed a humiliating early sexual experience, and was still a virgin and very bitter about that. Although I voiced concern and curiosity, I also made some comments about how much "cooler and experienced" his story made him, and that I was jealous. I came to my senses later and texted him apologizing and saying no one should have to go through that, but we never talked about it again. I feel very badly about my actions, and wish I had been supportive, especially now that I've learned more about how damaging male rape is. Do you think I should try to broach the subject again with him? It bothers me a little that this lady is still out there, probably seducing more young men into a relationship they are woefully unprepared for, and also that he probably hasn't found many people he can talk to about it.
