I'm applying to some UC colleges, and when I get to the scholarship section, I see that women have 4 more options to apply (You can only apply up to 16). There are no special options for men though. These are the extra options for women:
- Woman major in English literature, American literature or classic Latin literature
- Woman from S.F. area planning a career in a humanitarian field (teaching, social service, etc.)
- Woman resident of Los Angeles area for two years or more
- Woman planning to obtain a graduate degree
This is bullshit. I am not eligible to fill up all 16 slots (because of life) and I would qualify for "planning to obtain a graduate degree," but I'm not a women.
