Andrew O’Hehir at Salon lectured moviegoers that right thinking people will find the movie LIGHT AND FUNNY, and won’t be distracted by the feminist message. But even O’Hehir has a hard time swallowing his own party line.

Whatever the bizarre reaction to the “Ghostbusters” remake in some quarters is really about, it isn’t about the movie, which is relentlessly cheerful, entirely inoffensive and distinctly above the popcorn-movie standard in terms of wit and style

apparently they have redefined "inoffensive" just like sexist and racist...

so lets have a movie made where every female character is evil or stupid, and the heroes defeat the boss at the end by screaming "hit her in the cunt!" while shooting her in the crotch with lasers... because that would apparently be inoffensive!

I guess Andrew O'Hehir hasn't figured out that "feminist Ghostbusters" is a two word phrase that explains exactly why it's a dud. Did anyone in planning really expect that adding an agenda around gender politics to a beloved comedy would be a success? We're not talking PB and chocolate, here.
