When I was a medical student I saw a man in the emergency department who had gotten a little drunk and fallen down the stairs. The man was in his late 50's so as you can imagine falling down a flight of stairs messed him up good. He had a few broken bones, a cracked skull and was bleeding from his head. I was told the story that he had gotten drunk and accidentally fallen down the stairs.
I went in to talk to him and when I asked him how it happened he said that his wife and him both drink frequently and she has always been abusive. This time SHE had pushed him down the stairs in her rage. I saw the look of defeat on his face knowing that he would never retailiate against her. I felt really bad for the dude, especially because he looked so messed up from all of the wounds and bruises.
So I went to the head nurse of the department and told her that we should call the police and help him report his wife so something could be done to help him. She stopped then looked at me for a few seconds then said, "HAHA oh no...no. No we wont be doing that.."
Modern "Equality" ladies and gentlemen. Anything that doesn't fit into the narrative that men are violent monsters is systematically ignored or covered up.
