No, Ghemoshi signed the thing to save a bundle on legal fees. Anyone who takes this as an admission of guilt is an idiot. Legally speaking its not an admission of guilt. The prosecution knew they're weren't going to win, this is a face saving move for them and a cash saving move for Ghomeshi. Its a shame because it likely means this dishonest bullshitters that put Ghomeshi through hell will never face justice.

there is a difference between an admission of guilt, and satisfying the requirements of a settlement. effectually the judge ordered that he issue an apology for his actions in lieu of pursuing charges. if you read the entirety of his attornies statement at closing it becomes evident that he was required to write this person an apology. so its not an admission of guilt or wrongdoing. its simply an apology intended to placate the offended party, and end a messy trial. These usually happen when the prosecution doesnt have rocksolid evidence, but enough evidence to have a remote chance at a conviction shout it go to jury. he likely opted for the apology route so everyone can save face, and evade the risk of recieving a sentence, not to mention considerable time and attorney fees.

the reason she abandoned her anonymity is because in a criminal trial, any agreements are left to the district attornies, and she has no say in them. she is determined to brand him as a rapist no matter what, which is why she went so far as to do this.
