The core reason for Japan's problem is that the structure of the Japanese economy forces women to make a terrible choice between having a career and having children.

The person who wrote this is a moron, that's called having freedom, if women choose to have a career that's their fucking business fuck off and stop blaming sexism for everything, what a stupid twat.

And one key barrier to overcome, without question, is ending the de facto punishment of Japanese working women who choose to become mothers.

No, the barrier is feminism and other constantly meddling and insidious groups telling women as well as men how to live instead of letting them just choose lifestyles they're comfortable with and leaving people the fuck alone.

It's seems to me that people more and more who act like this about women making their own choices want to eliminate men from the process of society altogether and I suspect this isn't just my paranoia surrounding misandrists. Unfortunately for these halfwits they didn't take into account biology and reality so it seems to be completely backfiring as no matter how great a woman is nobody can easily have a career and children at the same time especially when they have to get pregnant all at the same time.

Until we create a society that's not about making rich corporations and wealthy individuals ever richer, the up-front cost of children is too high for individuals - BOTH men and women - to bear. Of course, the obvious thing is, men can't both work and raise children either, and this article basically makes the case that it's only women who are losing out by that inability.
